Southeast Alaska Guides Organization (SEAGO) executive director John Blair got a chance to visit Ketchikan and spend some quality time with us here at Alaska Sportfishing Expeditions in search of some salmon and halibut! We’re happy to say we were able to find him a few fish!
John’s responsibilities include representing the guided sportfish industry in front of all regulating bodies including the State of Alaska Board of Fish, NOAA, and the US Department of Commerce. His responsibilities also require him to work closely with Alaska Department of Fish & Game personnel as they draft and implement fishing regulations that impact sportfishermen. John works tirelessly to make sure sportfishermen have adequate access to our public resource and drastic changes to current regulation are justified by sound scientific data.
SEAGO has membership options for individual anglers that want to support an organization dedicated to making sure our resource is protected and available for anglers for many years to come. Become a SEAGO member by by visiting their website at www.seagoalaska.org.
We are happy to be working with John and even happier that he would take a few days and come and visit us in Ketchikan!
