The Southeast Alaska pink salmon harvest in 2011 is expected to be excellent, with a point estimate of 55 million fish, according to the latest forecast from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. An actual harvest of 55 million fish would be nearly 40% higher than the recent 10-year average of 40 million pink salmon.
