Alaskan Freshwater Fishing Packages

If you are looking for a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience, you won’t be disappointed with Ketchikan’s freshwater fishing. Our Alaska freshwater fishing trips utilize local floatplanes to access dozens of remote lakes and streams that surround the Ketchikan area. Your experienced local pilot will take you through the beautiful and breathtaking scenery of the Tongass National Forest as you make your way to the elevated fishing grounds.

Unlike other parts of Alaska, special care is taken to plan a trip into areas where it is unlikely you’ll see another fishing party. The remoteness not only translates into less pressure on the fish population and more opportunity, but also gives you the sense that you are the first person to ever fish such a spot. Your fishing area will be chosen based on your fishing interests, your skill level, your physical ability, fish availability, scenery, and weather conditions.

While certain accommodations can be made for less agile anglers, freshwater fishing trips and locations are more physically demanding than saltwater trips. If you have any questions about your physical ability, please discuss your limitations in detail with your guide prior to booking your trip.

As a way to promote the health and sustainability of our stocks, freshwater trips are generally catch-and-release. Guides provide fly fishing tackle and flies, safety equipment, and rain gear. Gore-Tex waders are also available with advance notice.

Whether you take the advice of your guide or you dig through your own tackle box for something special, we’re certain that your once-in-a-lifetime Alaska freshwater fishing trip will turn into a frequent event!
